Today is a beautiful day to visit Everly Brothers Park — just a few blocks east of our Knoxville shop. While you’re there, be sure to read the paving stones engraved with quotes from Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, Carole King, Brian Wilson, and other icons praising the music of the Everlys. Walk a little further along the Greenway and you’ll find yourself outside West High School where Don and Phil attended classes in the 1950s. One of Don’s classmates, a cute girl named Catherine, was the inspiration for their hit, “Cathy’s Clown.” Walking up Tobler Lane and then down Scenic Drive into the Sequoyah Hills neighborhood, you’ll pass one of the houses the Everly family lived in at the time.

We love the Everly Brothers, and listen to their music all the time, so it’s cool to have all this history nearby!

This Saturday in Oak Ridge… MOVIE MUSIC MADNESS!! We picked up a killer collection of vintage soundtrack vinyl in Los Angeles a few months back and we’re finally making some of these LPs available just in time for Oscar week! The 200+ LPs this Saturday will be titles beginning A through L (more from the second half of the alphabet next week!). Rare stuff you’re not likely to find anywhere else. See you at Wild Honey!

It was 10 years ago today that legendary film composer, John Barry passed away, but we’ll never stop listening to his work (because we’re obsessed)! His is some of the greatest music of the last century, and to honor his memory, we’ve just pulled some 1960s gems from storage, which we’ll be listening to throughout the day!

Black Friday vinyl is still arriving! Here’s some of the indie-exclusives that we’ll have in the shop on Friday starting at 8am.

To allow social distancing inside the shop, we’ll be allowing the first 6 people inside at 8am for 10 minutes. Then at 8:10, we’ll be allowing the next 6 people inside and so on. The checkout counter will be outside, under our long, covered sidewalk. This works very well and keeps the line moving pretty quickly while maintaining good social-distancing for everyone. If you’d like more time inside the store after your 10 minutes, you’re welcome to join the line again… plus, we’ll be open all day with less time restrictions as the day goes along.

We’ll be open special hours from 8am to 8pm on Black Friday and our normal hours on Saturday with lots of cool RSD indie-exclusives, vintage vinyl, and great gift ideas! Our new spacious, clean, and well-organized store is located at 961-A Oak Ridge Turnpike, and there’s TONS of parking available… see you at Wild Honey!

The third Record Store Day Drop starts this Saturday October 24th at 8am with lots of cool RSD indie-exclusives!
